Som grafikken herover fra Peterson Institute for International Economics viser bliver de amerikanske toldsatser overfor Kina forøget – vel at mærke uden de seneste forhøjelser, som indtil videre er sat i bero. Det betyder, at den gennemsnitlige toldsats på kinesiske varer siden 2017 – altså på kun 2 år – er hævet fra 3,1% til 21,4%.

En ny undersøgelse af PEW Research Center viser, at amerikanernes syn på Kina tager en skarp drejning nedad (grafen herover). Det var naturligvis også forventeligt på baggrund af den verserende handelskonflikt.
