Swiss National Bank expands measures against strong Swiss franc
The substantial rise in risk aversion on the international financial markets has further intensified the overvaluation of the Swiss franc in the last few days. In the light of these developments, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) is taking additional measures against the strength of the Swiss franc. It will again significantly increase the supply of liquidity to the Swiss franc money market. The SNB aims to rapidly expand banks sight deposits at the SNB from currently CHF 80 billion to CHF 120 billion.
To accelerate the increase in Swiss franc liquidity, the SNB will additionally conduct foreign exchange swap transactions. The foreign exchange swap is a monetary policy instrument which the SNB uses to create Swiss franc liquidity. It was last employed in autumn 2008. The massive overvaluation of the Swiss franc poses a threat to the development of the economy in Switzerland and has further increased the downside risks to price stability. The SNB is keeping a close watch on developments on the foreign exchange market and on financial markets. If necessary, it will take further measures against the strength of the Swiss franc.

Der er mange konspirationsteorier omkring udseendet af en dollarseddel. Nogle mener at vide, at Frimurerne er indblandet i designet.

Disse lande har fortsat AAA-rating fra både Moody’s og Standard & Poors iflg. CNN. Grafikken er dog lavet før den amerikanske nedjustrering, så dette land skal ikke længere regnes med i klubben. Der er risiko for, at Østrig, Finland, Frankrig og UK også mister sin AAA-rating.

Det andet af de store amerikanske ratingbureauer, Moody’s, advarer om, at USA må finde flere besparelser for at undgå en nedjustering. Moody’s tøver dog med at nedjustere, men advarer om, at det kan ske før 2013, hvis de økonomiske udsigter bliver forværret betydeligt. Flere oplysninger her:

Den ugentlige ledende indikator for den amerikanske økonomi fra ECRI forsøger at stabilisere sig omkring 2%. Aktiemarkedet falder dog nu kraftigt (den blå kurve = S&P 500 indexet) og truer med at trække tæppet væk under en positiv vækstrate.

The Economist skriver, at den nye IMF chef, Christine Lagarde, som jo var tidligere fransk finansminister, nu også risikerer at komme under anklage. Det drejer sig om en gammel fransk retsag om involvering i erstatning. Nu troede man lige, at IMF gik fri af flere skandaler. Link til historien:
